Thinkfinity has assembled a diverse collection of activities to help families commemorate Black History. You can find a collection of highlights on their Black History Month page, but here are two of my favorites:
The NAACP Interactive Timeline , hosted by Laurence Fishburne, is a great tool to expand your knowledge of the milestones, people and events that illustrate the organization's impact on civil rights, science, the arts, law and more. Thinkfinity has also compiled a set of activities you can complete with your child to further reflect on these compelling stories.
ArtsEdge is hosting an audio series that traces the Blues as it evolved from the hardships Black Americans faced at the turn of the 20th Century. Through informative interviews and a wealth of podcasts, you'll learn the ins and outs of blues music and find out how the history of the blues has been brought to life on stage at the Kennedy Center.
