Our students will need to excel in a multitude of areas that as a society, we are only beginning to scratch, such as:
- Maintaining focus in the presence of multiple visual displays
- Generating content that is both visually compelling and well-written
- Collaborating with peers virtually and safely
- Choosing the appropriate tool for a task
We have already begun integrating opportunities to build these skills in the classroom by:
- Experimenting with the concepts of virtual learning and creating online lessons
- Ensuring our students are exposed to both Mac and PC platforms, as well as desktops, laptops, and tablets
- Creating procedures and lessons to incorporate mobile phones as a learning tool
- Identifying best practices to support collaboration and multi-tasking across all age ranges
- Increasing student awareness of varied methods of expression and communication
- Promoting global and cultural awareness
