21st Century Literacy Learning Program
Our students will need to excel in a multitude of areas that as a society, we are only beginning to scratch, such as:
  • Maintaining focus in the presence of multiple visual displays
  • Generating content that is both visually compelling and well-written
  • Collaborating with peers virtually and safely
  • Choosing the appropriate tool for a task
We have already begun integrating opportunities to build these skills in the classroom by:
  • Experimenting with the concepts of virtual learning and creating online lessons
  • Ensuring our students are exposed to both Mac and PC platforms, as well as desktops, laptops, and tablets
  • Creating procedures and lessons to incorporate mobile phones as a learning tool
  • Identifying best practices to support collaboration and multi-tasking across all age ranges
  • Increasing student awareness of varied methods of expression and communication
  • Promoting global and cultural awareness
